FROM humble beginnings.
The year is 1948 in Cowra. Things are looking up and Neville Doust goes about setting up shop to make farm gates and do general welding repairs. With servicemen returning, there were plenty of skilled people looking for work.
In 1983, Jeff Haley pioneered a steel reselling service in Forbes to give locals better access and pricing. It was a fledgling operation at first, but with lots of demand soon grew into much more, offering hardware, tools and industrial supplies.
The Haley’s family business expanded to Parkes in 2004. Fast forward to 2010 and they take on Lachlan Steel in Cowra and Cudgegong Engineering in Mudgee too. You beauty. Also, lots of work!
Today, there are four Power Tools Plus stores in Cowra, Forbes, Parkes and Mudgee, a unified group serving a diverse customer base in Central West New South Wales. We’re about 71 years old, but have almost given up counting.
Some things haven’t changed, we’re still locally owned and operated and here to help better our communities, providing the tools and resources you need.
We love a job well done. Make it fast, make it easy, make it fun (disclaimer: fun while working hard is not guaranteed, but we do our best).
